Our forward-looking curriculum delivers transformational learning and is tailored to meet the needs of each individual student. It is EPIC; Effective, Personalised, Innovative and Creative and an exciting range of learning and teaching strategies is used by our highly-skilled staff to motivate and engage students.
Learning during our accelerated Key Stage Three Course (Years 7 and 8) is supported by outstanding teaching which ensures rapid progress. This enables all students to start Key Stage Four courses in Year 9, bringing with them a range of transferable skills essential to the demands of further and higher education as well as the world of work.
Our three year Key Stage Four programme therefore offers a much wider and more extensive choice of options including a range of traditional academic GCSEs and AS Levels as well as vocational studies including BTEC qualifications, ASDAN and Diploma courses.
Students are taught in smaller than average groups, selected by need and ability and based on rigorous analysis of all available data. This enables staff to stretch and support all students, as required, to help them achieve exceptional progress.
Our comprehensive package of Information, Advice and Guidance ensures that students make informed choices. Gifted and Talented students, as well as those who may have struggled in the past with literacy or numeracy, are supported throughout both Key Stages by our specially trained staff.
Clear and very regular target-setting and reporting systems underpin all aspects of learning throughout our Academy so that everyone knows the progress they are making and how to make further improvements.
